LiPo batteries from ebay...

If any of you out there have purchased any type of LiPo battery from ebay, please tell us about it.
Do the designated specs match reality?
Is the price difference worth it?

Do you think all batteries are manufactured in the same factories and simply branded differently (their all pretty much the same)?
Or maybe the highest quality batteries coming off the production line are branded with known logos and the lower quality batteries end up on ebay for a third of the price.
That would be an excellent way to financially manage a production line with relatively high DPU (defects per unit).

What are your thoughts?

Cheers.

Well, I only have 2 lipos (7.4v 900mah 20c) from ebay, and it seems the discharge rate is somewhat misleading. I have a same specs lipo from HobbyKing, and the performance is waaay different (my heli response is better when using the Turnigy lipo). Price was more or so the same (excluding shipping, ebay usually have free shipping).

I just purchased some LiPos on ebay. 2x 3S 11.1v 1800mAh rated for 25C discharge rate for about $24 including shipping.
The goal is to convert them to 2x 3P 3.7v 5400mAh for my RC car (7.4v saddle pack).
I'll post the info with some pics when I get them.

Cheers.

Hi
I have purchased a lipo on ebay and so far it seem to work fine. It is a 1300Mah, 3 cell, 25C battery. Its lasts a good 10/12 minutes in my F117, however it all depends on how you fly. Great battery so far, thinking of buying a few more. ;-)

Thanks for the info FlyerF117.
Can you post the battery brand or a link to the battery you purchased so that we can check it out?
Even a description will do.

Thanks,
Cheers.

Hi everyone,
I have just received my two 3S 11.1v 1800mAh batteries.
I will soon leave a post on the DIY section of how to convert these two cells into two 3P 3.7v 5400mAh for off-road RC buggy (inc. pics)

Stay tuned...
Cheers.
