JBA 'F' series .46 any good?

Postby HornbyFlyBoy » Wed Aug 25, 2010 3:03 am

Hi guys.

Have just been given a brand new 'F' series JBA .46 engine. I know nothing of them and wondered if anyone here had experience with them? Worth hanging onto or should I give it he flick and get another TT PRO .46? I have been told their blue ones were to be avoided but this is a different more recent beastie.

Any opinions appreciated.

I've heard there are the (typical) Chinese engine issues relating to poor carburetors and difficulties in tuning the F-series JBA engines.

I must admit that I have been thinking of picking one up for the series of engine reviews I'm working on but I'd likely opt for the .52 or .55 since they're the same weight for (supposedly) more power.

As usual -- it wouldn't hurt to suggest that whoever you're thinking of buying an engine from submits one for review.
