Digital Servos

I recently purchased a few digital servos. Around the $15 dollar mark but recently i have reead about digital servos burning out. Or servos dieing after 15 horus use etc etc.

How does one avoid the pitfalls for digital servos

stick to the recommended voltage range for the servo and make sure it can supply sufficient torque for the load. Heres a rule of thumb I use.

Elevator Servo. Servo torque = weight of plane (minimum)
Aileron Servo. Servo Torque = weight of plane, use fastest servo's in the appropriate torque range
Rudder servo. Servo Torque = 2x weight of the plane

Stick to Nyon gears unless servo's are of very high quality. Cheap metal gear servo's are prone to binding due to por gear wheel machining, lack of lubricant and poor electronic components.
