hi Bruce, with the module out on the 9x i can get it to work as a slave tx for the dx6i, except i can't get the throttle and arilones to work the right way around. What am i doing wrong?

did you try to reverse the two channels, or are they swapped?

If they are swapped there isn't much you can do unless you can program your 9x to output these controls on different channels (there are a few radios that can do this but they are expensive)

edit: you MAY be able to do it if you flash your 9x with the open source TH9x code, my German is a bit rusty and it looks like they could use a translator.

From the 9x user manual (not very well translated so I edited it a bit)
Distribution channels on the receiver can not change the distribution channels on the
receiver (this is only possible on top of radio range). Unlike radio Futaba, the path of gas
(throttle) does not need to be placed in position 'REV' (reverse).
- Channel 1: Aileron
- Channel 2: elevator
- Channel 3: Throttle
- Channel 4: Rudder
- Channel 5: Gear
- Channel 6: Flaps
- Channel 7: Auxiliary 1 or Aileron 2
- Channel 8: Auxiliary 2.
- Channel 9: Battery.

This is the Futaba order of channels, JR (and little brother Spektrum) start with throttle, then aileron, elevator, rudder...

I'm using JR as master and turnigy 9x as slave, and I reflashed with the ER9X to get it to work, like Ergocentric mentioned. Made the process very simple, but you may be able to mix the channels that you need to get what you want, I was reading about that somewhere but didn't give it much thought. The custom firmware is miles ahead anyway, you won't regret it if you install it
