Bent HK401b boards

Postby jomarx » Mon Oct 18, 2010 6:44 am

I think the picture below speaks for itself. The question is, should I resolder it so would be perpendicular to the bottom board?

And a small note, the gyro below is not mine, we only have the same problem. But mine's a bit worse, both left and right boards are bent... (just love the China QA  )

You could reorient the daughter-board and it would (in theory) improve the gyro's performance but given that it's not exactly "top of the line" I'd try it as it is and if it works okay, don't worry about it.

Who'd have thought you'd find that kind of poor quality control on a Chinese product eh? Go figure! :-)

my new one of these is exactly the same, i checked the solder joints and all is fine though.
Seems to hold the tail very well on my HK450MT! so doesn't seem to affect its operation in the slightest.

I have a few of these gyros and they work great.. a slight angle on the vertical boards does not affect operation at all..

Make sure you do this fix for reliability and longevity..
