I'm not an "RC truck guy" but I found this article very interesting and have wondered why we don't use this technique on a regualr basis...

Once more hobby rc gear is used for intelligence gathering...ahead of time?
Btw, the first use of UAVs was when an Israeli intelligence guy flew his son's rc model plane over Egyptian lines with his own camera on board. It worked so well Mossad bought six or so planes in the US and brought them back to evaluate. The higher ups canned the idea because they were just "toys". A few weeks later Israel nearly lost the Yom Kippur war for lack of visual proof that the Egyptians and Syrians really were going to attack.
