Receiver Antenna Setup

1. I know the Flydream receiver antenna set up is not the greatest and so I hope to place them in the best possible location. a.) Would it be best to put one antenna vertical and one horizontal on opposite sides of the fuselage? b.) Or on the same side of the fuselage so as to not cancel each other out? I notice that in range check I often get a "dead spot" towards the 8 o'clock and 2 o'clock sides of the plane at about thirty paces. Everywhere else on the dial is fine. I uses setup "a" on two planes and they both suffer from the same dead spot at 8 and 2 o'clock at about thirty paces. System will not go into "fail safe" but rather "locks up" until I get closer. At ten paces it reconnects. Maybe this is nothing to worry about, and yet, I hope to get the best location.

2. Would it be ok to mount the receiver directly between two servos so as to get the antennas further back in the plane and away from the battery, wires, servos etc.? Or would this cause too much electrical interference?

Thanks for the advice,
