Hi All , well I have brought this and are wondering if anyone has used this in a RC Boat ( gas or nitro boat )
I need to know

had it going , seems to be sweet , will let you know more if it fails .
anyone no how this set performs in a carbon fibre hull ?
does it have less range ?

Just remember that the carbon will shield the antenna so make sure you mount that antenna as high as possible -- preferably taking into account that in the turns the hull will be at an angle so it could still block the signal if the antenna were simply laid on the deck.

I use the 9X in all my sail boats and have remarkable reliability. I have a Freesky telemetry module in a Hitech Optic 6 and I found that to be a pain in the proverbial ! It keeps beeping at me for reasons unknown and annoys the hell out of other people. Mind you it is in all probability trying to tell me something.
Anyway haven't returned to find the problem since getting the Turnigy 9X V2. Mainly run this in a Micro Magic class sail boat and like I said, couldn't be happier.

The FrSky's telemetry is notoriously pessimistic about low RSSI (signal strength) reports.

When flying FPV it will start beeping at about 900m but you still have full control at over 2Kms -- and it's still beeping!
