Futaba 6EX to FrSky Conversion for long range FPV

Postby Danger Mouse » Sun Mar 11, 2012 11:25 am

Hey Gang

I am interested in converting my Futaba 6EX to FrSky for improved range for FPV. I have been looking at the Range Video website, specifically the amplifier and patch antenna options. Ideally, I would like to connect the FrSky V8HT via Futaba Trainer Port on the back of the unit. It would allow me to connect the PPM out, GND and +ve without opening the Futaba unit. I could install the FrSky unit in a zippy box on the back similar to Chainlink/Dragonlink.

As always I would be interested in your thoughts.

Regards

Keep an eye out -- FrSky are working on a "long range" system for FPV users. I'm hoping to get some more info soon.

Hi Bruce

Thanks for the reply. How long do you think it will take for FrSky have this system on the market? Within the next few months? I'm currently flying out to 2km but I'm keen to go much further. :)

Cheers

I'm waiting for more information from them... they don't have a timeframe but I expect it will not be too far away.

Hey Bruce

So do you think I should sit tight for the next couple of months or purchase Chainlink?
