The 9x-R is an in house radio built by HK... It's not much good offering a 9/8 channel radio if you cannot get enough to satisfy your demand...

General consensus on the 9x forums was that most people didn't really care for the appearance of the proposed 9XR. As Keith has indicated, its HK's attempt to bring the Turnigy 9X in house and presumably gain a few dollars of margin out of the exercise.

They've promised that it will still be upgradeable to the open source variants such as ER9x etc but that remains to be seen. Given that Sky9x is now on the scene, i'd think they'd be better off offering an absolute bare-bones Tx with the ability to slot in your favorite after market board (such as Sky9x or Gurvin9x).

Personally, i'm waiting to see what the new FrSky 12 channel Tx might look like - they've had a close relationship with the ER9x / Open source group and so hopefully will have a strong flavour of that approach when it comes out. No idea on timeframes for that - first heard about it in April and yet to see any detailed spec.

Just need to get that 2nd job to pay for all the nice toys now! :-)

Totally agree it should be an awesome one, they need to release more information on it :)

Is this why there are no T9X systems to be had? For what they want for them on eBay one might as well pony up a few more bucks for a Spektrum DSMX 6.

I got notification today that the 9x's were back in stock. By the time I had logged in the Mode 2's were out of stock again.

Either they are not getting enough stock or people are waking up to this alternative to big brand premiums.

The 9x is going for 90-150 US on eBay right now. It would not surprise me if somebody has bots programed to buy every system they can so they can turn them around on eBay for twice what they retail for. There are a bunch (51 sellers) so I would bet we are being gamed on these things. Guess I'll roll the dice and put one on HK backorder and see what happens.

Two weeks would be my guess.
