Parkzone Vapor transmitter mode change

Has anyone been able to change from mode 2 to 1 on the RTF parkzone vapor transmitter.
It does have a mode switch, which does change the modes, but you are stuck with the elevator (left) stick having no spring to return the stick to neutral.
And then the throttle(right) stick has the spring, making you have to hold it down when turning on.
i have tried flying with it in the mode 1 configuration, but its a real pain because you can't keep it trimmed, with having no set center for the elevator.
