Will a FrSky DIY module work with the original 9xV2 receiver?

No, the Turnigy 9X receivers only work with the FlySky (ie: Turnigy, iMax, Eurgle, etc) transmitters using the module that comes with them.

However, if you convert the Turnigy 9X to FrSky (using a DIY board) *then* you can use the FrSky receivers.

In one of Bruce's reviews (http://www.rcmodelreviews.com/hobbykingrc3.shtml) a Hobby King 6-channel HKTR6A 2.4GHz reviver was bound to an IMAX 9X transmitter. The IMAX 9X and Turnigy 9X are basically one-in-the same, but they may use a different 2.4 RF/binding scheme?

I own a bunch of the HKTR6A receivers I'd like to use with the potential purchase of a Turnigy 9X. But I'd rather not buy the Turnigy 9X on the speculation that it will bind with the HKTR6A receivers. On the surface the HKTR6A seems like it may be a better receiver (all be it fewer channels) than the receiver that comes with the Turnigy 9X.

Any answers are greatly appreciated!

Hi - I have a 9x and a HK- TR6A V2 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=12901 and it works just fine.

My question is will this work with the 9x http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FrSky-2-4G-2-4GHZ-4-channel-Micro-Receivers-V8R4-4ch-RX-/160604173219?pt=AU_Toys_Hobbies_Radio_Controlled_Vehicles&hash=item2564c133a3 ?????

Cheers

No as Bruce states above
The HK- TR6A V2 is compatible with flysky but the frsky receivers will not work with the flysky TX module.

Can anyone help me please.
I have and old, but still working fine, Hitec Prism 7.
I would like to install a Corona 2.4Ghz module http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7381
But I have now seen posts that the servo's start to Gitter when the TX voltage goes below 10v.
I have also seen posts that say there is possibly a mod that can be done to the Tx to make it stable.
I would appreciate any assistance on finding out more on this issue.
I might also consider the CT8J http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7380 if I knew for sure that it would work.
In anticipation.

I have no personal experience of the corona system but i do have lots of experience of the frsky system and from what i read on forums worldwide the frsky is a far superior system, many people who originally fitted the corona system have removed it and replaced it with frsky, read bruce's opinion of the frsky system on this forum in the 2.4 systems shoot out,
I have fitted the frsky system to a lot and i mean a lot of transmitters and have done a lot of experimentation with the system including flying with the tx voltage below 9 volts (not recomended) and everything rock solid, no servo jitter and still plenty range, the frsky system is simaler price to corona so fit once and go flying.

Thought this would be a good enough thread to ask this:

Is the FlySky FS-TM002 transmitter module compatible with the TGY 9Xv2 receivers ?
I recently ordered a micro heli from HobbyKing that can bind to the TGY 9Xv2, but I have lost the 'module' that was originally in my 9X.
If not, anyone know where I could get the correct module or circuit board :p ?

-----
As a side note, this does bring a need for some clarification, as the old "Unfortunately, 2.4GHz is very much like PCM insomuch as there is no inter-brand compatibility." is quite misleading.
Not only are there the Orange, Corona and FrSky's Futaba compatible receivers, the whole Turnigy/FlySky/Imax bunch, and now with HobbyKing selling, basically, unannounced BNF models is becoming pretty ridiculous.
It also seems that, as there are receivers compatible with the 9X, there are transmitters compatible with the 9X receivers.

Here are some of the models/receivers that have been said to bind with a 9X:
https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18283__2_4Ghz_Micro_Coax_Helicopter_4_Channel_RTF_Mode_2_.html

https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__12901__Hobby_King_2_4Ghz_Receiver_6Ch_V2.html

And, if the receivers are compatible with the 9X, then these transmitters are compatible with the helis and the 9X recievers:

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered an FS-TM002 module.
By pure luck, it arrived the same day as my helicopter :P
I can happily say that yes, it does bind with the TGY 9X receiver and the heli, and the insides are the same as the original Turnigy 9X module.
And good it does, the toy radio the heli comes with is absolutely horrible and pretty much unusable.

Although, the TX does have a tiny separate PCB for what seems to be the 2.4GHz board, and a bunch of neat parts, so it's not totally worthless :p
