Low-voltage on FrSky V8R4

Postby hummel » Mon Sep 13, 2010 9:14 pm

Has anyone tested at what voltage this little receiver will brown-out?
Specs say operationl voltage is 4.0 to 7.2 Volt, but I can't imagine it will shut down at 3.9V...
I'm setting up a 1S system for a mini-DLG with 3x 1S-nanoservo's and a 1S 160mAh. Voltage is likely to drop to 3.5V under load... the 8 channel version can go as low as 2.7V isn't it?

Cheers,
H.

When I reviewed the 8-channel, they worked just fine down to about 2.8V

I would expect the 4-channel would be about the same. I run my DLG on a 4-cell NiMH pack that gets pretty low at times and I've never had an issue.

The FrSky website is updated: it now states an operational range of 3.2 to 7.2 V.
So a single Lipocel should be sufficient, even under load.
Cool stuff!
