I'm like a lot of people out there, turning over $60-$90 or even more for a receiver, I wonder how can I afford that new plane or the parts? Swap receivers from plane to plane?
When I flew on 72Mhz, and still do, just not buying anymore 72Mhz receivers, I could pick up one for $15-$20 or less, brand name a little more, but that way I wouldn't have to worry about swapping them from one plane to another.
I fly smaller park flyers, the largest plane I have is about 3 pounds, I'm working my way up to larger crafts but, I'm making the switch to 2.4Ghz for the simplicity of "just go fly", not worrying about channels and who is on what.
I welcome the competition, as long as the receivers work, the price for now for is unjustifiable in my book for the real brand names, they cost as much as some of the planes I buy!
Sometimes I wonder if this is another blue ray or HD DVD deal, if one 2.4Ghz technology will win out over the rest and be the staple for the rest to follow, it was so much easier with 72, 35, 75, etc frequencies.
