Can Turnigy 9x Rx (and HK compatibles) Handle 7.4v Rx Paks?

I'm looking @ Corona DS339HV servos to go w/my 9x purchase. Their range is 6.0-7.4v. Can the stock 9x receiver handle a 7.4v Rx battery? What about the 9x-compatible HK-T6A-v2 receiver?

I'd like to run at least 6.6v, preferably 7.4v thru the receiver....am I gonna fry anything? I did check this forum, but couldn't find a direct answer to this question.

Great site...first post, thank you for your help

I'd be wary of using a 2S lipo pack directly with the HK/Turnigy receivers. Although they are nominally 7.4V, a 2S lipo can be as much as 8.4V when hot off the charger and that could stress the tantalum capacitor that sits across the input circuit.

The magic smoke will definitely come out if you hook a 3S battery up and 2S is close to the limit for these receivers.

6.6V (which can go as high as 7.2V hot off the charge) is okay however and I've used these receivers with a 2S A123 pack and had no problems.
