I've changed my old radio, a Futaba 8UA to 2.4 using a Corona DSSS V2 external module. The battery's not at it's best, so I'd like to convert it to li-ion. Is this radio suitable for the 2 cell conversion like on the Turnigy? If not, will a 2+1 pack fit in?
OK, I might have a play one rainy sunday then. One last one: I want to make up a receiver pack for a six servo electric soarer. It'll be a floater so not expecting a lot of drain from the servos (prob. GWS park or similar). I would hazard a guess at no more than 5A. Could I use the higher capacity dealextreme li-ion, or would it be best to go with 1100 mAh A123 which will hold up better under load I'd say.
Unless you want to add a regulator then you'd be advised to go with the A123 cells. They're 6.6V nominal, the Li-Ions are 7.2V which is too high to use without a regulator.
