Seeing it's been so quiet around here......
I've broken down and installed XP into Virtualbox on my Linux system. I gave up trying to compile eepe for Linux (too many missing dependencies I couldn't resolve on my own) so I installed Virtualbox and then loaded my old copy of XP into it. I'm happy to say it works a treat and I can now run eepe in a window without having to shut down linux AND it appears to talk to my 9x radio just fine. I was a bit concerned about timing issues as XP talks to VB which then talks to Linux which then shoves the stuff in and out the USB port. I have run into other hardware that would not work properly in a Vbox session but eepe handles it fine.
Over on RCgroups the prototype replacement main board has arrived and hopefully work will begin on it soon, both assembly and software porting. It's a very interesting, if somewhat expensive mod for the 9x radio but it sure does bring lots of improvements if it turns out to work.
