Guys can you post a link of which lcd you are using... I've found this one quite cheap: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/3-5-tft-lc ... -15v-49796

Although we would have to know if it show static...and not the blue screen of death :)..

That one has poor resolution. I got this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/150616212333?ss ... 1439.l2649

for about same money. Looks almost the same, but has no buttons and no settings. I described how static looks somewhere in this thread.

Hi, I brought the exact same LCD monitor because said it was 640x480, I compared it next to my old CRT 640x480 TV and the LCD was crap, the resolution was no where as good as my old CRT 640x480 TV, now the LCD it just sits in the cupboard doing no nothing.

Thanks for the info Joe. I have no way to check actual res, I went only by seller specs :). However, I find it just enough for my purpose.

Nice job. The problem with me is that I already wear glasses (I'm shortsighted)...so I would have to find a different solution for enlarging the image, or putting the lcd closer..Well I would have to try it before I can say conclusively...
Rixx you write at the first post that with the granny glasses you can put the screen 10cm from the eyes, I can have the screen (well from an ipod touch 2g which is also 3.5") so close even without the granny glasses...

I'm a little shortsighted too, I wear weak glasses for flying :). To specify, I can see lcd clearly at that distance without granny glasses too, but picture is quite small. If I want larger image, I have to move closer, but then I can't focus. So basically granny glasses are not enabling me to focus closer, but give me larger picture. But - I can move LCD even closer past that mark with granny glassses, but they were very cheap and they distort heavily if I get closer. Maybe some other optical component is needed instead of glasses, aspherical lens or something, I have no idea :).

Another thing - a aimed for comfort. I can focus pretty close even without glasses, maybe to 5cm or so, but it is very exhausting for eyes, I prefer to go further and enlarge with grannys. I adjusted screen-glasses-eyes distances so I can watch effortlessly and not need to force eyes to focus.

Have a think about the number of pixels per inch of the final image. I find that, even though I wear glasses normally, the resolution on my base fatsharks is so coarse that the image being uncorrected makes no difference.
