FPV backpack

If you've been building electronic bits or modifying stuff you've bought then tell us all about it here. A good place to discuss the installation of 2.4GHz DIY modules too.

No... you haven't missed Bruces' backpack, it hasn't been released yet.

You sound a bit botlike Dude!
Say something in response to this so we know you are genuine.

Hi Guy's
Am waiting for the backpack to be finalized by Bruce, but in the meantime have put this one together and fitted it to the Cloud fly, weighs in at 105Grams but the Cloud fly doesn't mind the extra weight

The SMD caps look good, but I can't find them on ebay: could you post a link, please Ronald?
I've got my board down to 11 x 10 holes (probably!), but the SMD caps could be better.

Cheers for the SMD caps links, Ronald, I'll go with them on build #2.
Meanwhile, I'll have a go with the electrolytics I got.
Is anyone aware of strange pin-outs on LC7809CV 9volt regulators. I got "The Magic Smoke" when I tested the board after I fitted it.
I used the pin-outs from the ST data sheet, i.e. with face towards you and pins down - left input, centre ground, right output.
I've e-mailed the (UK) supplier, but no response yet.

I see Bruce has started to upload the build videos, started with soldering techniques, then the antenna. Has said the various diagrams and parts list will be uploaded this weekend.
Meanwhile I've tested another LC7809, off board, and it worked perfectly with the published pin-outs. Must be me then!
Going to wait for the maestro's videos to see the way forward.
