RC Car lap counter

If you've been building electronic bits or modifying stuff you've bought then tell us all about it here. A good place to discuss the installation of 2.4GHz DIY modules too.

RC Car lap counter

Hi

As well as a pilot, I drive RC cars and am chairman of a club.

We are looking at Lap Counter.
AMB is really expensive
IR types are risky due to the line of sight isses.

Would it be possible to rig up some sort of 2.4GHz system now that they have telemetry.

Any thought.

If you had telemetry and a suitable bit of software hanging off the transmitter end to make a note of each time you passed the start/finish line's coordinates then yes, you could use telemetry to perform lap-counting.
