If you've been building electronic bits or modifying stuff you've bought then tell us all about it here. A good place to discuss the installation of 2.4GHz DIY modules too.

Turnigy 9x v2 for sim use without removing the module ?

Adjustment of Turnigy T9x v2 for RC simulator - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xD6Gia4G ... re=related

Is this the only way to use the Turnigy 9x v2 with a simulator, without removing the module ?
Or is there some other less intrusive way to accomplish this ?
Is this hack even safe to use ?

I just ordered the "FrSky DHT 8ch DIY Telemetry Compatible Transmitter Module"" - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... duct=17205.
As this is a DIY hack module, it will be impossible to remove after installation.

The 1k resistor mod is safe enough.

My plan for my DHT module is to mount it inside the RF module case and make a hole through the upper wall of the module and the corresponding part of the main case for the antenna connector to pass through.
Rather than solder the PPM, +V and GND wires I plan to fix female servo pins onto the cable and push them onto the pins coming through the case.
Having the DHT in the module case will leave the telemetry port near the surface if I want to bring the data out of the back of the Tx to an external unit.
The FS button. LEDs and DIP switches can show through the lid of the module case also.
A bit like the DJT module but with an internal antenna.
Taking the data line back inside to the Tx board would be easy enough if I were to go in a Gruvin direction with it.

That's my plan anyway. Hopefully it'll work out. ;)
