Hi.
been trying to make the clover leaf and have bought ametre of rg6, 20m of rg174, a metre of rg58u, and opened them up.
i realised the rg 6 was massive in comparrison to yours and ibcrazys and figured something was up.
the rg174 had multistrand core and would not stand up very well due to the flexibilty it had been designed for. (got refund for 20m)
have just had a go at the rg58u but it has copper braid so thin, its extremely fragile and this dosent seem right either.

i believe the rg58 is for higher frequencies. does choice of coax matter this much?

i bought these cos thats all there is at my local stores(mitre10 jaycar hobbycity). .... WHERE CAN I BUY RG316 BY THE METRE? - or do i have to buy a big roll of it?

cheers, dave.

You can get it from the likes of Element14.com or (much cheaper) off eBay.

I bought 5m of it the other day from an online auction and it cost about 1/10th the price that Element14 charge. Seems just as good as the spendy stuff I bought earlier.
