Came across one of these cameras that uses a powered lens on Low Price RC. Is this a good thing?

It's the same board-camera at 2/3 the price ($52)

I haven't tried the powered iris attachment but the stock camera seems so good that I'd be hard pressed to see why you'd want to spend another $23 to make it better.

Ok, after looking at your review again and others I see that you are very correct in that. I wasn't really sure if this would be a good idea or not.

Mine's on it's way. I'm looking forward to seeing something other than black ground when my nose is above the horizon.
