OK here is indoor low light footage from the HK Cheap PAL Camera and also the same Camera with a Better quality WA lens on it. Quality is great . . not GoPro great but fine for flying and OSD display.

Thanks! Can't wait for my (same) stuff to arrive and try it out. May not be Black Sheep's standard of gear, but we gotta start somewhere, hey.

Also, can't wait for the damn wind to die down here. I have two models to maiden and it's been blowing a gale ever since they were ready.

Bloody Tassie in Spring... (still, it's gorgeous watching the gulls try and handle it...all the lesser birds are walking).
What goes up...better bloody stay up (until I say otherwise).

Could you post a link to where you bought the lens?

Woke up this morning (ooh, good first line for a Blues song) and the wind had stopped. Banged a battery on the charger, had brekky, packed the axn (which fits neatly in the boot with the wings on) gathered all the other gear up, including cap-cam. By the time I was ready to go, there was a breeze...thought "stuff it" and went anyway. Arrive at flying site and it's now blowing a strong wind, with nasty gusts.

Let the dog off for a run then turned around and went home.

*puts battery back on storage charge, picks up fiddle and sings...*

Woke up this morning,
and the air was true,
packed up my gear
for to fly over you,
then came the wind
and gave me great pain
yeah, I got those big wind blues
say, I got those big wind blues...
What goes up...better bloody stay up (until I say otherwise).

Tell me about it. It was calmer when I got home.

So I thought, to hell with, charged up a battery and went out again. Of course the wind immediately picked up once more, but I carried on and maidened the axn anyway. Btw, I left the Phoenix at home, as I really didn't want to bend that.

Anyway, it was pretty windy at around 16 knots with gusts to 25 knots or so, but the axn still flew like a dream. It was trimmed so well I never had to touch the trims or use the auto-trim switch (a really neat feature of er9x).

I flew it up to about 3/4 throttle and did a lot of gliding too (it glides surprisingly well). Had a great time, despite the blustery conditions. The first launch (I made three flights) was a bit hairy, as I launched too low with insufficient throttle, but I picked it up OK and away it went.

The video though was a fiasco. I forgot the memory card for the on-board keychain camera and cap-cam failed big time, because not only did I forget to set the focus to infinity, but I automatically pulled the cap low to shield my eyes...so all you get is the first hairy launch, and then lots of nice video of the grass and some sky...with the axn just out of view the whole time.

What the hell, I had a ball.

For what it's worth, here's the first few moments of the flight.

Haha, that's from the Blues Brothers Sid.

When I woke up this morning, I heard a disturbing sound.
I said, when I woke up this morning I heard a disturbing sound.
What I heard was the jingle-jangle of a thousand lost wind chimes.
And I'm talking about the souls of all the helis and planes, grounded for this day.
Wait a minute, the Lord says the souls of us here on earth is, secret of divine life, they'll not fly.
Because it's too windy... too windy yeah,
too windy for them to ever fly again, in the smooth air they once chose not to glide in,
don't be lost when the wind goes. For the day of still air cometh, like a mist in the morning.

Oh yeah, I got the 92 degrees lens from the same seller.

Eddie :)
