I'm trying to organise an FPV weekend in Tokoroa. We'll close the airfield to full-sized traffic and see if we can get an exemption to fly up to 2000 feet AGL. It's a very easy place to FPV -- the big long airfield (with numbers at each end) makes it easy to work out exactly where you are and the lack of houses makes it nice and safe.

Yeah I was keen to come down with Clint for the ANZAC meet and actually meet you Bruce. One weekend in the next few months would be wicked as the weather is so nice in Autumn

The autumn weather is nice???? Are you living in the same country as me?

Have you seen the forecast for this weekend? "weather bomb"!!

You're right though, autumn is usually quite settled (equinoxia gales not withstanding) although this year it's supposed to be just like summer was -- but colder, windier and wetter :-(

Need to fix my plane with new receiver, speed controller and servos after it went swimming at Kohimarama Beach. Turns out the spa in the Bixler's isn't very strong!!!

Out Swanson way I fly at a golf course in the waitakere ranges no houses and no RF interference :D

Sounds awesome! Once I have my setup complete we should have a day/morning of FPV flying!

Hahaha, the more I dwelt on the idea the more it seemed like a must (ok, i'm a gadget junky at heart so it was just a matter of time anyway)

The tipping point was the release of their new open-sourse telemtry system they've designed as an alternative to the XBee, looks real exciting and much cheaper. Now i'm all spent out but well worth the stress :-)
