Tech question ref FPV up link

Question. Im using my camcorder on a gimbal for aerial photography. I want to be able to utilise the cameras zoom and other options provided by the cameras IR remote control. So does anyone know if there is a existing or easily made method to transmit the IR pulses from the remote control up to the cameras IR reciever.
I.E. IR remote pulses> IR Rx sensor> RF TX> Tx Antenna> **********uplink > 5km**********Rx Antenna> RF Rx> IR Tx LED pulses> Camera IR Rx> camcorder responds as per usual!
ANY ideas or suggestions will be appreciated, this would be a very popular concept if made available i'm sure!
