and I've found that aircraft without a rudder respond poorly to a broken aileron servo arm, but I did get the mud out of the engine

Did you balance at the CG and side to side? Are both halves of the elevator traveling evenly and smoothly?

i took it out and had a good flight on 2 batteries. i noticed i would sometimes struggle to climb it has a standard motor and a 6x4 prop ( orignal broke) is this normal ?

The hinges on my AXN have all "let go" and are now held on with unidirectional glassfiber tape.

Works like a charm!

However, it seems as if the bixler is center-hinged which might make that more difficult. With the AXN, it's the top surface that does the hinging so repairing with tape is a breeze.

not really
all you need to do is cut a v shape into the hinge and add some tape

Get some hinges and do it properly like I did in an earlier post... I don't mind short cuts but I like to stick to the basics of model making that I learned many years ago....
