Here is my attempt, plus my assortment of heatshrink up to 80mm, for this I used 22mm.
The lump in the middle is a piece of rubber, just in case

Looks fine and I reckon the lump of rubber is very sensible.

Hey you sneaked this one in when I wasn't looking?

Nice job and thanks for the shrink size, got to buy some tomorrow and try to make the same things...

Last time I soldered two wires to a deans plug it took me over an hour! Using gas soldering iron sucks! (A bad Tradesman blames his tools - I am no tradesman and I do too!!!)

Have made a couple of these, easy as. 8-)
I use a 30amp iron, Duratech 0.7mm flux cored 60%tin/40%lead from Jaycar.Last one I made with copper core from domestic house wiring (2mm) was easier than multi strands of thin copper.
Just make sure you "tin" all surfaces before trying to join.
Have yet to try Bruces' method in just joining the dissimilar plugs with solder (sodder :?: )

Will be paying Jaycar another visit soon, need a finer iron tip to work on the Tx

"Easy as"? Where's the middle finger icon Bruce??? Bloody banana benders and their Bejelke-Peterson educations...

I shall attend Jaycar today and equip myself appropriately :D

I watched Bruce's soldering for idiots section and I even bought the extra set of hands device and all...

I shall just practice, practice, practice...
