Airtronics SD10 Radio Transmitter

Hi All, The Airtronics SD-10G 10CH Transmitter from Airtronics.. Have people used or do they use this radio, and in your opinion, could a newbie, who is purchasing a Trex 500 Heli do much better for the price of these radios? All comments are appreciated. Thanks :-)
