I'm slightly reluctant to bag this guy, Jeffery, as over the phone he seems pretty nice, but it has taken over 3 months for my X450 to arrive and a warning to other potential customers seems necessary.

I ordered an X450 back at the end of May. All the parts were out of stock and while the whole copter didn't have a stock level it didn't say out of stock either so I thought it was a safe bet, wrong!

Jeffery seems to wait until he has a few orders to fill then order a bulk shipment from the factory. So a bit over a month and a few ignored emails later, I called him to complain and was offered a "free upgrade" to an X450 Pro for the X450 price. I found later that they are both the same price anyway.

Silly me accepted the offer only to realize after a couple of weeks that now I had to wait again for the X450 Pro to be shipped from the factory. It finally arrived a few weeks ago and was sent to me via USPS with a tracking number that stops being updated a soon as the package leave the US.

To date Jeffery has never responded to any of my emails, I have only received automated emails from paypal and one that look like a virus has raided his outlook address book. He does answer the phone, but also goes away for 3-4 day trips and never returns calls left on his answering machine.

Hopefully my X450 will turn up this week or next. I ordered some spares from a week after the copter was shipped, which were dispatched within 24 hours, so I'm interested which will turn up first.

Edit: I must be psychic, the spares from cnc arrived today, lol.

It arrived!!!

It was well packaged and arrived exactly 4 weeks after it was posted. I guess I was expecting a lot after buying an AR Drone from Amazon last year and having it arrive by FedEx in 3 days.

On the whole I'd say if you're buying from, definitely confirm that he has stock before placing any orders.

Good news! Congrats.

I'm still waiting for a headless spinner and some prop blades I ordered from Northeast Sailplane Products.

All I have received is an e-mail confirmation of the order, nearly a month ago. No other e-mails like, "Your order has been dispatched".

Most worryingly though is the fact that they have no e-mail address for order enquiries. They ask that I phone them...from OZ???? What, they have an international online shop set up, but they don't have an e-mail address for order problems?????

Anyhoo I sent them an e-mail on their tech questions address, which as you can see form their website is not for such trivial problems like, where the heck is my stuff?

Also, their ordering system doesn't seem to handle things like states that are not in the USA, such as Tasmania being a state of Oz. I have a sinking feeling that if they have actually posted anything, it's been received by some baffled granny in Lindisfarne, England, not Lindisfarne, Tasmania, Australia.

Yeah I know, as I had Latin bashed into me at school...

Caveat Emptor!

I keep a Magicjack around for when it's NOT toll free to the USA. It's a cheesy outfit, their website and support is terrible but it does work most of the time. For about $50, you get the adapter to plug into your computer and a US phone number. I have to pay extra to get a Canadian number (another 10 bucks). Then it's ~$20 a year for the phone +the $10 for the Canadian number each year after that. For those long distance calls, it's free and I make sure I call my wife when I'm at work on the home Magicjack to ensure that MJ gets a few pennies for each incoming call. If you just phone out on the MJ, you'll eventually get into the "naughty boy" books and they turn your service off, claiming you've exceeded *normal* usage. Don't even bother asking tech support to quantify what *normal* usage is... they can't tell you, or more likely won't.

Sid, if you don't get any response to your email inquiry, you can pm me for my email address. You can send me your official details and I'll get NSP on the horn and find out just what the bloody hell is going on for you.

I will be leaving town this Sunday but will be back on Friday for the weekend but will be leaving once again that Sunday and returning the following Friday aftenoon. Then I'll be home for 2 weeks before going back to work.

Thanks Chris that's very good of you. I haven't heard anything yet, but will let you know if I do (or don't).

Have to say this though, I've been buying stuff on the intertubes since 2000 and I have only been stiffed once, and I've bought a lot of goods in that time. The amount of money I have saved compared to shopping locally is amazing.

Lately, every time I go into a hobby shop here, I walk out feeling ripped off, angry and stupid (and a lot poorer). I like to help local specialist businesses a bit, but the prices they charge (or have to charge) would make the hobby untenable for me if they were the only way to get stuff.
