people are writing new firmware for the TG9x/ Imax etc...

I thought It might be of interest to those people that are willing to make a firmware change to the 9x, if your is like mine it has some good Chingrish, and a few things could be a bit easier.

Interested to see if anyone NZ tries this out, and Im sure there are a few people contemplating new firmware?

Yes, I'm going to be setting up a project page (in English ;-))for those who want to reflash their 9X radios.

I'm also thinking of making a small DIY project that will allow the 9X to be reflashed and have its memories saved/restored via a USB connection.

Because I can never find it easily when I search the main RC Model Reviews site, here is the DIY $8 Lithium Transmitter Battery conversion for the 9X

Yes, I'm working on a master-index and search function for the site at the moment.

I didn't expect it to get so big so quickly.

Has anyone been sucessful using two of these in a buddy box (trainer) arrangement. I have two Turnigy 9x systems and they work fine individually for controlling about six aircraft in my squadron. However, I am having a difficult time trying to get the two to work out as an instructor/student trainer system. I can not get the student box (turned off but connected) to respond to either position of the instructors Trainer switch. The cable is a two conductor (mono) audio cable, male ring and tip on each end. With the power switch off on the student box, it does come on as soon as the cable is plugged in. The trainer menu has the four flight channels set to NORM; rudder, elev, throttle, aileron.
Any help would be appreciated. No manual came with either of my two radios, I have a copy of the Imax and Eurgle manuals. They cover the subject very lightly.
I am a simple man I need better detail than the Chinese manuals offer. I would like two lists. Student menu settings and Instructor menu settings.
Also has anyone verified the logic of the Instructor switch. It appears to be backwards logic???
Thanks in advance.

Can't wait for the new and improved manual.

Yes,
However, to use it as a trainer you need to do a small mod:

I'm sorry. I should have mentioned that I am interested in the VERSION 2 Trunigy 9x. It does not have the circuit board shown as being modified.
Many people relate FlySky, Imax 9x and Turnigy 9x ver. 1 articles and instructions to this but the Version 2 transmitter is a very different animal.
There is something wrong with the Trainer (Student and Instructor) function when using two of these transmitters.
Has anyone figured it out?
Thanks

Have you tried just unplugging the module on the student transmitter?? Just leave it dangling to see if it all works now. Thats what Erezra posted about but its a proper fix for it
