charging circuit on T9x

Problems, experiences or just something to say about RC gear? Say it here.

charging circuit on T9x

Postby FlyingTiger » Sat Feb 11, 2012 11:42 pm

I'm using Bruce's $8 battery mod and currently removing the battery pack from the radio for charging. I read about the diode that prevents charging LiPos in the T9x. Can someone point out where this diode is and how to remove or bypass it to allow the use of the charging port.

Thanks

Hi FlyingTiger,

When taking the back off the 9x, the diode is on the back face, on the bottom right. It actually sits under the PCB but what I did was remove the positive wire from the underside, and just re-soldered it onto the other side of the diode on the top of the PCB.

See this image (sorry about the small size!) And credit goes to pldb64 for supplying the initial image before I made the edit:

Hope this helps.

Cheers
