FPV backpack

If you've been building electronic bits or modifying stuff you've bought then tell us all about it here. A good place to discuss the installation of 2.4GHz DIY modules too.

The price of these things is very exciting. Especially if you have to order 10 minimum. Could go halves with someone and have a 5-diversity receiver. Imagine that! :D

My Arduino Diversity controller is almost built, just doing the PCB etc now and will put up here when I'm done. Highly customizable too as it's coded on a micro.

I was like that at the beginning of summer when Bruce first announced this FPV project... We are into autumn now and the novelty has worn off so looks like I might shelf the project for six months... It ought to be up and running by then...

Right now I'm laid-up with a stinking cold (it's getting colder around these parts) but work progresses!

Fear not -- as soon as I can (once again) go a few minutes without explosive sneezes, t'will be done!

Before I had a very similar encounter with a cold virus, I designed and printed this: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:20730 (for those afraid to click links: it is a 3D printed, blue & streamlined housing for a SonySuperHad camera module).
It has some room behind the camera where one would be able to stick their transmitter etc, but I reckon it is a little to small for 'the' backpack? If you have some outer dimensions, I might be able to whip something up and put it on the waiting machine (AKA 3D printer).

Here is my crude take on FPV backpack boards as a new Eagle user. I make no claims as to the useability of these designs. They are untested except on breadboard.

http://www.t3pranch.com/FPV/ right click and save as: You need Eagle of course.

They use the 200 mW 5.8GHz modules available here:

and also at goodluckbuy.com (where I got mine)

Nice :) I wonder if there's a 3D printer near me :?:
