Walkera have their WK2801 tx for some of their rtf heli's, was just wondering if anybody has one? what are they like? At a guess it looks like dsm2 or something similar, judging by rx(2 aerial). But i also heard of some affiliation with futaba. I have no idea and i am just speculating. someone please educate me.
Bruce, any chance of a review as they are quite reasonably priced.

I don't know what they're using but I doubt its either DSM or Futaba.

Walkera is selecting 3 available frequencies (vs. the two of DSM2) and alternating between those. They do not hop to another channel on interference.

However, in my testing I found that their frequency selection usually does make sense, so they're not like Spektrum I never got my Walkera TX to select three channels adjacent to each other, it always picked free channels across the band.

I have this radio and its has good feel on the sticks and solid construction. Backlit screen and menus are easy to use unlike the crappy DX7's menus. The DX7 has the worst menu from the radios I've seen at the field.

One thing I have to mention is the Walkera WK2801 radio has a big parasitic electrical drain somewhere in it. If you leave the radio powered off, the batteries will be dead overnight everytime.

I forgot to mention the WK2801 is limited to 10mW output for European markets. If you live in the USA like I do then this is disappointing because we can have 100mW output here. Note the Spektrum DX6i has a selectable output for EU and USA but, sadly, the WK2801 is fixed at 10mW. But the WK2801-Pro has the full 100mW output.

I got the WK-2801 with my Walkera Creata RTF kit. The WK-2801 has a good feel to it similiar to the DX7. I've also flown my Lama 2 coaxial and the 4G3 (world's smallest CCPM heli!) with it. I really wouldn't mind trying the 4G6 but I've got my hands full with my current fleet and already spent a boat load of money on RC this month. I really like how the 4G6 has a torque tube at such a small size! The 4G3's tail motor is a pain.

I'll keep the WK-2801 around since it has a nice feel and is good to have just one radio to control all these Walkera micro helis. Although Walkera doesn't sell model-only kits, sellers on eBay and retailers in HK sell kits with just the model only.
