I'm new to RC and bought an AXN

Actually,by the time I convert to oz $ and factor in the higher oz price,it's probably just as cheap direct from hong kong.And it's not necessarily faster either.I bought an item from a Sydney supplier once,and it took nigh on 6 weeks to come to my door.NZ is so small,they couldn't find it on their map
In any case,then I'd miss out on that eager expectation of things to come.That's half the fun.

Golly-gosh,Den's been on the brandy,methinks,he's gone all poetic! .
I will truly endeavour to restore equilibrium to my amps,and aeration to my ailerons.
Had a quick nosy at the bits,and I see somebody has been watching Bruce's video.My rudder and elevator have been pre-wobbled to loosen them up.Still had to do the ailerons,but you can't have everything.
I'm going with the orange servos,and a 25-30A HK esc.I've also got a 5a bec to go in.I've got 2 -2200mah packs from the canadair,so they'll be borrowed for the AXN.
Couldn't get the APC-style 6x4 prop,so I went for the Tg(?)one.
Frsky 4-ch rx.I bought a roll of reinforced tape from Bunnings for the bottom of the fuse.
I reckon I'm just about set for attack.

I have munted mine into the ground looking for earthworms a few times since I added the side plastic plates, has stopped it looking like a banana. Now all I do is drop the nose into hot water for about 2 minutes and hot glue the breaks. Haven't "flown" for a week now...........I have a plan
Plates are 50x30x2mm, hard plastic, full CA coverage to the side wall, additional weight..buggerall.

Hallmark's next plan is an Ekranoplane.................. that's all he will have left

The latest mod around these parts is to put some flat carbon strip (6mmx1mm) on each side of the tail at the back of the wing (so that you have about 60mm in front of the wing TE and 60mm behind it.

We cut a little strip of foam out so that the carbon sits nice and flat against the side of the fuselage and epoxy it in place.

That provides extra strength at the point where they sometimes break (so I hear ) if you cartwheel them really bad.

Stiffened the back of my bird up significantly more than just using hotglue after a cartwheel (oops, did I admit that?)

As for the nose -- I kind of like the way that the battery is an important part of the structural integrity of my AXN now

Any chance of a photo of these mods? I've seen a few videos of AXNs in similar 'wing condition' to mine, but wow what a hoot, Thanks for turning me into an AXN motor head Bruce...!!!

Bruce you would only cartwheel on purpose

I have 2 x 2mm carbon tubes running from under the battery to the tail, held on by various duct tapes just waiting for a cartwheel, just haven't reached that ability yet.

I also have a block of high density foam in the nose, one of my battery packs has a few wrinkles so hopefully this will slow the ageing process.
