FPV backpack

If you've been building electronic bits or modifying stuff you've bought then tell us all about it here. A good place to discuss the installation of 2.4GHz DIY modules too.

That looks like the set that I have ordered from Foxtech.
Please be warned that the spec says 12V but if you look at the board it says 5V. From what I have read these work on 3.3V to 5V so don't get trying 12V or they will smoke!

The ones from Goodluckbuy .com are the ones I'm using. They come in 200mw and 20mw TX units, make sure you order the correct ones.

P.S. Sorry I forgot to say the transmitter is powered with 3.3volts. I wouldn't even push it to 5volts.
The receiver module is 5volts

I wonder if you could get a cheap LiFePo4 2S1P 700mAh 6.6V pack for $2.63 like this one:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... aff=168122
Then split it into single cells and get a perfect 3.3V single cell 750mAh battery for the backpack.
I might just get one to try out. Will post back if it works.

I have received my backpack and it is as sweet as promised. I chatted to Bruce about the set up and operation and I shall test it tomorrow on the bench with a maiden on my 'Blue Bruce' between then and the weekend.

Bruce was kind enough to make it so that I can separate the camera from the Tx and have the camera on my pan/tilt device, with the Tx at the aft of the fuselage.

I will post more photos soon, but here's some teasers for now...

A question for Ronald MacDonald, can you list the frequencies on the Good Luck buy tx/rx as there seems to be a bit of confusion on some of the sites selling these, they often list two different frequency groups. Much appreciated if you can help out. I have a receiver for the US,and some list the same frequencies and some then list another bunch which appears to suit foxtech.

Re the Life battery you could ruin from the balance plug couldn't you? A brilliant suggestion by the way, would do without the voltage regulator.

The frequencies of the modules I received from goodluckbuy are as follows:

5705 000
5685 100
5665 010
5645 110
5885 001
5905 101
5925 011
5945 111

Last 3 numbers are switch configuration for that channel.

Hi Ted the info on the Goodluckbuy site says "8 channels from 5725 to 5865 Mhz" thats all i can tell you. My frequency counter only goes to 3000Mhz so i am unable to measure it. The transmitter and receiver modules are sold in matching pairs so will work together. Sorry but that's all I can tell you.
Best Wishes
Ron
