I'm new to RC and bought an AXN

wow thats a pretty axn... yeah mark 1 is not going to be discarded, its actually going to be used as a test bed for my fpv winter project, i am taking all my fpv gear from my model car and putting in on the axn and gonna see how it feels,
the mark 2 axn will get its first flight on friday hopefully if the rain stay away...

Hard to get along with the fact that your newly bought plane crashed.I still think RC planes are easy to fly than RC helicopters.I would be happy to

Anyway..................just 2 things I changed on my last rebuild that I did not point out. My receiver is the rather large FlySky unit and I had trouble mounting so that the canopy closed, I shaved out the rear bulk head down to the wing, lined it with doublesided tape. Now the transmitter forms part of the structure I removed and is flush enough to clear the canopy, I now have oodles of room so wire looms do not impede on the servos.

The original canopy clip was destroyed in the very first bunt, this has been replaced by a 20mm long bolt, 2 backing plates and a nut. The canopy now sits proud by 2mm and held in place by Mr Latex, provides easy access and extra cooling when I finally get going.

Nice work Dennis, I am hoping to see some flight footage soon as you're feeling better, SWMBO has time to accompany you (safety before fun), the AXN is ready to oblige you and Jupiter, Mars, Venus and Pluto are all in alignment lmao

Today I tried a new "airport". It was a really good flight in a windy condition but unfortunately the motor mount came out. But I was lucky because it came out only at the end of the flight.

AXN rescue . It was a windy day and this was the second battery pack I flew with. After the hand launch the wind turned out the plane which flew behind the trees and I couldn't see it. Tried to recover but lost the control and decided to turn off the throttle and let's find it in the forest. And happy end, the plane was sitting on a low tree . Lesson learnt, fly only on an open area.

SO...................... ......................................I flew today, frustration got the better of me and I tossed my AXN accross the work paddock and I REALLY FLEW, controlled aileron turns 4 times around the paddock and a figure eight . Time for a touch and go, test my landing skill before it all goes pearshaped. Big mistake to downwind land ............... .
The aftermath, 20kph to 0 in 30mm, I couldn't be happier I FLEW.

I had my key chain cam record it all, so I thought alas it did not, now I have no proof, but I did fly honest, even squealed like a girl

Watch this space for repairs, hmmmmm... builders foam?.......hot water is NOT going to fix this.......time to learn how to hotwire foam

Nice work Dennis and that's only cosmetic damage, you'll sort it with hot glue, duct tape and a will to fly again.

Odourless cyano is a bit better cosmetically than hot glue it enables you to bring the pieces together with better joint closure, use pins to hold it together as it dries.
Any missing bits can be cut around to square up the edges the holes infilled with white insulation foam and sanded carefully to profile, a bit of patience and it will be good as well... then cover it with the wide clear parcel tape in sections to follow the contours, it will look surprisingly acceptable.
