CG and Balance of Great Planes Fokker Dvll

Postby kiwideno » Wed Jun 27, 2012 11:43 pm

Hi Folks..
Well I'm building the Great Planes Dvll and I think all is well so far. Ive reached the point of the CG and balance-the CG the factory setting of 54mm FLE and the so far the weight for the nose slightly down is 254.2 grams on the nose.
This is my first build of a balsa wood plane and given the size and type of plane is this a normal weight or have i missed something, just seems a lot.
This not my only plane I have a lot of foamys.
Heres a link http://www.electrifly.com/largeelectrics/gpma1141.html

I Would like any thoughts on the subject as I have a GP Camel to build as well.

Specs
rimfire 400 950kv
turnigy wood prop 10-5inch
hobbyking 25-30 amp esc
Turnigy TGe 9g servos
Hobbyking orange Spektrum 6 channel rx
Turnigy Nano-tec 1300mah battery
and lots of hours
to be flown by a DX7s mode 2

Cheers Deno

Most ww1 type models need a lot of weight up front because of the short nose.My only suggestion is to keep the battery as far forward as possible to minimize dead weight. The Camel will be worse,as that has an even shorter nose.
