gps tracker?

If you've been building electronic bits or modifying stuff you've bought then tell us all about it here. A good place to discuss the installation of 2.4GHz DIY modules too.

gps tracker?

Does anyone know of a stand alone GPS tracker that is a diy kit? I saw one on a model plane and it doesn't look like it should have too difficult to design or build for toughs of you that have the know how (how about it Bruce). I think it would be an interesting project that we could put in our planes and finally know for sure how fast and how high it flew. Any thoughts about it from anyone? What have you used?

amtpdb1, if you didn't get the point I think our helpful Kiwi friend is suggesting that as inexpensive commercial products fill the need, any kit would be much more expensive.

Just my 2c's worth :)
