What is latency?

Problems, experiences or just something to say about RC gear? Say it here.

On all the "regular" aircrafts ive flown, that include helis and "sport" planes (not hardcore 3D) i've never felt bad with the latency. there's some but its so short that i wouldnt notice it if i didn't pay attention (ive a DX7)

You notice it a lot more flying FPV however, when the screen has a movement delay after you pushed the stick.

Another consideration you need to take into account with latency is the time a CPU based radio takes to process the stick movements and send that info to the receiver. In most newer radios is very fast but on some of the older radios with slower CPU's and limited resources this time can ad up.
