I guess the people at leaders took your 60 buck radio from HK literally. Now they changed the price. They had the lowest price at 53 bucks and I was thinking of getting one from there eventually. Now it really doesn't even matter. I also get the feeling that leaders may just be another site from HK. Same area code and general area. They don't seem to respond to anything either. The comments that are made on the products that is. I can't find the address for HK to compare but the similarities seem to be there...well, time to keep an eye on the lesser one. Hehe...hey every little bit I can save is a good thing.

I wish everyone would stop calling the 9X a 9-channel radio.

In its 2.4GHz configuration it's only an 8-channel radio and always has been.

The 9-channel only applies if you're using the FlySky PCM system on 35 or 72MHz. So the Turnigy system in particular, since it no longer has the telescopic antenna for FM/PCM frequencies, is only an 9-channel radio.

But hey, it's only $60

I was wondering if you could fit the Frsky module into the 9X transmitter and is so which type of module would you use ?

The 9X accepts a JR-type FrSky module but with the V2 9X you will have to cut the that tethers the standard module. It would also pay to remove the built-in antenna since this has the potential to interfere with the antenna on the module.

I'll be doing an article on how to best install an FrSky system to a 9XV2 radio in the next couple of weeks.

Wouldn't it be easier to use Turnigy 9X V1 or iMAX/FlySky 9X transmitter instead of modifying V2 if other module is to be used?
I am using FrSky module on Turnigy V1 transmitter.

Bruce,

Still waiting for your flight test report.
Is weather not cooperating?

Yes, it would be -- but the Turnigy is now only available in V2 and other sources (still offering the old V1 setup) seem to be more expensive.

I am using FrSky module on Turnigy V1 transmitter.

How's that working for you?

I started to look okay this morning but by the time I got to the field and started charging batteries it was already blowing and rather turbulent (damn!)

Bruce,
Have you had a chance to see if the bind button reduces power output for range testing yet?

Thanks.

FrSky module on Turnigy V1 transmitter is working fine. After your most favorable review of FrSky, it is going to be my main stay.
