FPV backpack PCB build

If you've been building electronic bits or modifying stuff you've bought then tell us all about it here. A good place to discuss the installation of 2.4GHz DIY modules too.

Thanks.

Team BlackSheep has done some FPV flying from a car...while it's moving. It's in the first and last thirds of this video, if you haven't already seen it.

Here is what Rangevideo answered my question.

- Please verify operating voltage on the 5v module.
- Please verify frequencies on the VRx Rc-305 and the VTx 5v module (both have round yellow sticker with letter "A").

I am going to publish the correct data on rcmodelreviews forum.

Regards,
Roger
-------------------------
The answer i got:

The voltage is 5V +/- 10%
The frequencies are on the webpages.

All confirmed.

You can go to http://www.rcmodelreviews.com and scroll down the main page until you see a list of parts you'll need, as well as two links to VTx module suppliers, but Foxtechfpv has a few in stock. http://www.foxtechfpv.com/tx5823-200mw-8ch-58g-tx-module-for-nano-flyers-p-272.html Manual here: http://www.foxtechfpv.com/product/5.8G%20modules/tx5823/TX5823-Spec-V1.pdf

If you would also like to build your own receiver using a similar receiver module, (it's less complicated than building the VTx,) you can buy both the VTx and VRx together on eBay. Foxtechfpv also sells them, but they're back ordered. Here's the link:

Bruce great build video of the FPV backpack. I have followed this for quite a while and say to you that you are one of the best things that has happened to this hobby. Ignore all of the player haters out there and continue with your good and inspiring work. Please put me down for a kit.

Thanks again for your good work

Hi Tigar.

Look on the first page of this thread... Bruce, "Mr RC Model Reviews", is looking to supply kits. You need to tell him you want one, and he will let everyone know when they are available.

There's another thread - viewtopic.php?f=47&t=1437 - about the Backpack, which shows some other people's approaches to building, It's a bit bogged down with arguments though!

There's no instant gratification on this project, except to buy the gear ready built - at a price - or to pull all the data together, get the bits off the web, sharpen up your soldering iron and build it on strip-board. It's not really that difficult, if I can do it anyone can. (Greying, 60yr old, fat fingered, hamfisted, over-weight, un-fit, short-tempered, Grandfather of 13!)
