Radio purchase help needed

Postby TacoRC » Mon Oct 08, 2012 12:21 pm

I currently have a 9x and use it for all my lower cost planes, but since my models are getting more expensive and I've added a trex heli, what if any radio would you recommend? I've been looking at the Aurora 9, JR, and Futaba. Something in the $500 and under range.

Thanks

Have you thought about upgrading the 9x's Tx & Rx module to Frsky. I upgraded my Flysky TH9x to this unit because of the failsafe and improved distance. 1 x Telemetry Tx module and 2 x 8ch non-telemetry Rx's set me back approx AUD50 from http://www.alofthobbies.com.au
Some work will need be done to your 9x if the existing Tx module is hardwired, check http://www.rcmodelreviews.com for the how to on this. If your existing Tx module is not hardwired it is a simply PNP, just remember to recalibrate your sticks/pots when swapping Tx modules.
Not enough time in the day for all my crazy ideas, I'm not slow, I'm just pacing myself
