How crucial is the aerofoil

Postby Bruce8 » Wed Jan 09, 2013 9:14 pm

Hi guys,
Don't get me wrong, I know how important an aerofoil is but do I have to have one on a plane I am building. It is only going to be about 500 mm fuselage length. If I get the cg right do I have to have an aerofoil? Will it fly well without one? Would love to hear all advice!

An aerofoil will make it fly better, but a flat plate wing works well enough on the average foamy. It does mean a higher flying speed, but small models need to fly faster anyway.Google Kline-Foglemann for variations on the flat wing section.
