The accelerater just makes the superglue go off faster.You don't have to use it if you don't want to.
Tap the retaining clip flat before re-fitting.And of course,epoxy is perfectly fine too,if you happen to have some at hand.

Hah i found some epoxy in a drawer and it was still usable, but maybe i used a bit to much.
Would a little bit too much glue harm the motor balance?
And how can i identify and correct an unbalanced motor (if neccesary)

How much is a bit?The glue should be no thicker than the magnets,or you will have a similar problem to what you had in the first place.
If you're worried about balance,put the same amount of epoxy between the magnets on the opposite side of the bell.
