That is a great new for me  I am still using 35mhz plain simple radio with airplanes because FASST receivers are too expensive for me (I have Futaba 7C) :)
Esky Esmart (grounded, doesn't have parts), Blade EPP (flying), Old glow trainer airplane (needs some tweaking)

Good news, I'll have one of these receivers in my hands for testing early next week.

Stay tuned for the results.

Who will be selling this FrSky Futaba compatible receiver?
One Chinese dealer who carry FrSky is HiModel, but there is no announcement yet about FASST by HiModel.

Bruce,

What is happening to your expected review of Orange Spektrum clone receivers now sold by Hobby King but out of stock for long time?

Well HK were going to send me a review unit -- but now they're saying they won't do that until they've caught up on all the back-orders, which is kind of pointless. By that time people will have already decided whether to take the risk or not so a review is redundant.

They say they're selling them faster than they can stock them so a review won't do anything to help sales.

I agree that they may have more to lose than they have to gain by having a the product carefully scrutinized. When a vendor is 100% confident in their product (as Hitec appears to be with theirs) then they are more than keen to have it reviewed.

When a vendor is "not so sure", they often say "no thanks, we don't need a review".

Whether this applies in the case of the Orange receivers, only time will tell.

It's from FrSky so I suspect their dealers will carry it when it's officially released. I'm getting it in advance so I can review it. Clearly they're confident that it's a good product.

That's great I am really looking forward to the review.
I have the (FrSky 2.4G DIY RF Module/ Hack Module V8HT), I assume that this new FASST receiver will not be compatible with that transmitter module ??
Since they both use frequency shifting and are both Frsky I am hoping that there may be a slight chance but I am not holding my breath.

The (FrSky 2.4G DIY RF Module/ Hack Module V8HT) is the hack version of the (V8JTor V8FT) which I believe you have. If you can check the compatibility
that would be great. Thank you.

I wonder if they'll go down the Spektrum/JR route too? It would be a logical progression.
