Corona RD820II Dual Conversion Receiver Crystals

Note: Bruce you answered this on Parkflyers but you haven't replied to my latest message so I thought that I would get a faster answer here and the forum won't let me pm.
This is my reply to your pm on parkflyers back to me
Thanks for the reply Bruce. One of the things I was worried was that the servos weren't even twitching on the Single Conversion crystal so I thought that I have a problem with the receiver.

Eventually I am going to upgrade to FRSky but right know that's going to cost money that I don't have :sigh: :?

Love the website by the way I will spread the word!

By the way what are your experiences with this receiver like?

Thanks. :D

Here is the original message other guys can answer it :D
I recently bought this http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/st ... 28Incl._10_Rx_Crystals%29 receiver from Hobbyking. It came with 10 crystals but they all ended with a 5 like one was 40.815. So now I have a bunch of crystals that I can't use and I don't have any rx crystals I can use. If I understand correctly you have had some experience with these receivers so hopefully you can help.

My questions are where can I get a 40.810 crystal to fit my receiver? Also I wanted to know as I am not very familiar with fm radios should there be some sought of bind button on the receiver?

Thanks
Calvin

I won't know until the weekend whether it's the Futaba or Hitec crystals that work in the Corona receivers but quite a few guys (including myself) have had really good performance out of the crystal-controlled Corona receivers. They give excellent range and (providing you haven't got a dud one) don't seem to glitch at all.

I think I've got a half dozen or so of them laying around now (on 72MHz) after switching to 2.4GHz. It's a shame you don't have a 72MHz radio or I could fire a few your way (I've got lots of crystals on 72.130 and 72.250 as well).

Aww that's a pity would've liked a freebie  I'm really low on funds right now. I would have actually got a 72mhz but the module came with my futaba 9c. :D

Yes, the Futaba Dual-conversion crystals seem to work just fine in the Corona DC receivers.

Try The 436 Model Shop. They offer an excellent service over the Net and usually ship next-day.
