putting the er9x firmware on your Turnigy 9x -v2 in 6 simple steps:
making the turnigy 9x - v2, avr programmer interface:
1. take a 10 pins connector (http://www.conrad.nl, productid: 736995-89) and solder a cut and stripped IDE harddisk cable onto it (see diagram).
2. make a hole in the bottom of the housing and fix the connector with epoxy (http://www.conrad.nl, productid: 240800-89 or see http://www.hobbyking.com)
3. solder the 6 cables onto the pads
4. Connect the Pocket AVR Programmer (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc ... ts_id=9825) and make sure the small switch on the end, next to the cable connection is set to the "Power Target" side.
5. Flashing the er9x firmware (http://er9x.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/er9x.hex)
download and install:
- WinAVR (http://sourceforge.net/projects/winavr/files/)
- eepe (http://code.google.com/p/eepe/)
Run and configure eePe:
Burn/Configure
Backup the original firmware and eeprom:
Burn/Read Flash Memory - filename: flash-org.bin (filetype bin)
Burn/Read Eeprom from Tx
File/Save as (eeprom-org.bin)
Flash the er9x firmware (er9x.hex) see http://code.google.com/p/er9x/
Burn/Write flash memory
Turn on the TX after succesfully flashing
you will now see a message: alert, thr not idle (don't worry , this message will disappear after we callibrate the sticks)
press any key.
new eeprom is now created automatically
6. Calibrate the sticks and pots
1.Go to CALIB (7/7) in setup menus
2.Press Down. (->SetMid)
3.Set Sticks and pots to center.
4.Press Down. (->SetSpan)
5.Move sticks and pots through full range.
6.Press Down. (->Done)
7.Press Down. (Back to top)
All other general and model configuration can be done on your PC with eepc....
Good luck!
