I fly in the shadow of a large repeater tower used by Telus Mobility and Bell Mobility in the Toronto area. I was intrigued by your comments regard interference on two close chanels of a DSSS Rx. Could a tower such as this be a source of interference?

It is unlikely. Cell-towers don't operate on 2.4GHz so they shouldn't be an issue.
However, if you have strong enough "out of band" signals, they could affect the receiver's sensitivity.
