I'll make sure I include all that.

hi!

i would be interested in the hpp22 capability regarding programming.

IMHO, the state of computing currently is so much more advanced than the software capability or the tx radios these days.

i really wonder why the manufactures dont incorporate the incredible computing power of today's technologies!!!!
is the profit margin or ability of the RC users really that limited?

its a heck of a lot easier to look at a whole display of info (computer monitor) than a small lcd display (tx display)

my query is on the aurora 9 , regard. the hpp22 link to the pc...

i plan to order an aurora and the hpp22 as it seems the most advanced, telemetry, pc trans and editing of programming etc...

bruce, BTW, great reviews and video's! i had been searching for a while for objective info and was pleased to find your site.
the inadvertent link between journalist and advertiser is a real dis-service.

pardon me for such a badly written sentence!
i meant to say,
the inadvertent link between journalist and advertiser that exists in other magazine and forums, is a real dis-service to the consumer.

Re: Hitec Aurora 9 telemetry sensors

I received my new Aurora 9 yesterday. It has firmware release 1.06, as seen from the info menu of the system panel.
I also ordered HPP-22 device for connecting radio to pc and also the HTS-SS Sensor Station, but these devices are currently unavailable and will have to wait.

I am excited about its telemetry features, and I am planning to study the protocol used between the sensors and the receiver. I think it could be an I2C protocol.
Will definitely try to find some more information.

On the piloting side, my idea is to build a small datalogging interface device to be used at fly field, to be connected to the data port of the spectra AFHSS module, so to log telemetry data to flash memory.
The flash memory could then be read on the pc.
I think that such a project could be very useful for Hitec Aurora9 users.

What do you think?
Anyone interested to do some coordinated hacking?

I will also post updates on my blog: http://marco.guardigli.it/2010/09/hitec-aurora9.html

Smile!
Marco

Have you made any progress reverse engineering the telemetry? I am interested in this as well.

Sorry if I missed it but, I can't find the Aurora9 review anywhere. Is it done yet?

I was just asking myself the same question.
Made a quick search but only found the Spectra module review.

Has the Review been completed?
I can't find it, can someone post the link? :?:

Perhaps this is an example of the boss having too many projects on the go AND he still has a job! ;)

Hi Bruce!

After reviewing the Aurora 9, would you recommend it over the Turnigy 9x with a FrSky module? That's what I'm currently using but I'm getting more into gas planes over electrics now and not sure if a more main stream transmitter than the 9x should be on my list.
